DCIR & EIS Evaluation Kit & GUI
Dukosi brings lab-grade direct current internal resistance (DCIR) and lab-grade electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement accuracy for every battery cell through the Dukosi DCIR and EIS Evaluation Kit (EVK).
Dukosi’s innovative Smart Cell architecture generates the measurement stimulus, captures the response, and processes the results directly on-cell, eliminating the influence of pack wiring and interconnects.
Each EVK Cell Monitor can accurately measure cell voltage and temperature and perform DCIR or EIS tests for every cell in the network.
Using our intuitive Microsoft® Windows™-based software environment (GUI), users can progress from unboxing to establishing a cell network in as little as 15 minutes, accelerating technology investigation, application assessment, and proof-of-concept development.
If you are interested in an EVK to begin DCIR and EIS investigation in cell manufacturing, battery design, or electrified application development, please get in touch.
The Dukosi DCIR and EIS EVK box and kit
The Dukosi DCIR and EIS EVK Includes:
- x1 Dukosi Cell Monitor board (DK_DCIR_EIS_CM). One Cell Monitor board is required per cell. Order additional Cell Monitor boards to build a multi-cell network. PCB design shown is only representative, and it is subject to change at any time.
- x1 Dukosi System Hub unit (DK_DCIR_EIS_SH). Only one is required to network up to 216 Cell Monitor boards.
- A shunt resistor kit provided as a reference for setup verification prior to a live cell is being used.
- All cables included: USB, SPI, balun and bus antenna, and coaxial cable.
- Powerful, yet easy-to-use software GUI that offers a visually assistive digital-twin of the battery setup. DCIR or EIS test can be selected via GUI switch – no physical setup change is required.
- Comprehensive documentation and company support throughout the product development journey
Dukosi DCIR EVK Functionality
- Self-contained test requiring no external stimulus or source
- Generates accurate and repeatable results by measuring at the cell, minimizing the distance between the cell monitoring IC and the cell terminals
- Reports R0 in ohms in as little as 1 second. No additional software is required to make the calculation; no calibration is required.
- Requires no additional IC functionality beyond voltage measurement
Dukosi EIS EVK Functionality
- The Cell Monitor IC directly stimulates the EIS frequencies, while voltage and current measurements are made using the same voltage reference to ensure accuracy.
- Operates at user selected frequencies in the range 0.1 Hz to 3.5k Hz.
- Reports a calculated impedance at each selected frequency, no additional software is required to make the calculation, no calibration required.
Setup Examples
Left: Using a fixed power supply.
Right: Using a Lithium-ion cell.
Ensuring Customer Success
The Dukosi DCIR and EIS EVK is an essential tool that streamlines the initial engagement stages of technology evaluation and electrified product development. This includes evaluation of functionality, performance, and compatibility, followed by designing and integrating a proof of concept (PoC), which then leads into further steps of collaboration to bring a new design to market quickly and cost-effectively.
