Euan joined us at Dukosi from Lasswade High School this week for some work experience. He seems to have enjoyed it, and if the next generation of engineers are all as enthusiastic as Euan then we have little to worry about. Here’s what Euan has to say :
This week I joined Dukosi from Lasswade High School on my work experience placement. I am a fourth year student, and as part of the curriculum this year every member of fourth year went out on work experience this week. There were a number of jobs already on the data base of Lasswade High School however we were encouraged to find one of our own. When I am older I am interested in working in the field of electronic engineering so when I saw Dukosi’s website I thought I would be interested in doing my placement with them. I made contact with Dukosi and the placement was arranged.
Over the week I have been here I have been working on fitting some of Dukosi’s technology into a radio controlled car. This required me to open up the car, change the wiring in a way which would allow the EVoIC technology and car to work. After doing this my task was to do some tests with the car and try to measure how much energy it was using under a few different circumstances. Then I would collect the data and compare it to see how it was possible to make it more power efficient. Overall I have enjoyed my week at Dukosi and I think it has been a valuable way to introduce me to the world of work.
